If you are into all things Art Deco plan your holidays around these dates.  Events include Depression Dinner,  Black Tie Ball,  old time dine and dance,  garden parties, devonshire teas,  silver screen classic films, golf tournaments,  jitterbug dance lessons, steam train rides, vintage car displays, historic aircraft at the Hawkes Bay airport.  Many events are free including aerial acrobats, vintage car parade,  gatsby picnic, jazz and swing concerts at the soundshell, Bathing Belles, Bicycle Belles and fashion parades and competitions,  street parties - twilight toe taps, dry boat races, soap box derby to name a few.  This event attracts people from as far as Europe and USA with thousands of people dressed in art deco attire lining the main street watching the vintage car parade.
