Tauranga Flying the Flag for Rugby World Cup

A Tauranga business has been awarded the contract to supply flags and banners for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, being held in New Zealand.

Mount Maunganui digital printing company Textiles Alive, is part of a joint venture with Auckland company Flagz Group, which secured the contract.

The news follows on from Textiles Alive success this year and in 2009, suppling hundreds of flags for the international rugby sevens.

Established in 2005 - up until the rugby world cup - the sevens has been Textiles Alive's biggest single job.

Director John Heyworth, said it was not yet known how many flags and banners they would have to produce, but it was anticipated it would surpass sevens' demand.
