The 126km Manawatu Cycleway weaves its way from Mangaweka to Palmerston North City, providing cyclists with a two-day trip set against the region’s unique rural landscape.

Call to preserve rail bridge to nowhere

Palmerston North's own "bridge to nowhere", one of the last reminders of the abandoned Whakarongo railway deviation plan, faces an uncertain future. Little more than a concrete block culvert across a tributary of the Kawau Stream, it sits in a corner of a section owned by the Justice Ministry alongside the Mohaka Place youth justice residential care centre.

Two new properties for Choice Hotels
