Ruapehu Cycleway Opens
The Prime Minister officially opened the first stage of the 200-kilometre Ruapehu to Whanganui New Zealand Cycle Trail project at Old Coach Road, Ohakune today.

Centred on Springvale Park in its own Games Village, this nine day event comprises 67 different sports and over 580 individual events. A highlight of the games is the proximity of the venues and the main shopping areas, most within 10 minutes drive from the village. This is a biannual event shared between Wanganui and Dunedin each year.
